Wasser - Lebenselixier und Schönheitsbooster

Even though our skin is 80% water and adequate hydration is important for a healthy skin metabolism and healthy skin cells, hydration from within is not enough.

The inner tissue is supplied with water, but the skin surface is not reached. Regular external moisturization is therefore essential to maintain skin elasticity, prevent wrinkles, and strengthen the skin barrier.

Effective moisturization should always contain a combination of hydrating and moisture-binding active ingredients, as well as lipids that protect the skin from moisture loss.

As paradoxical as it sounds, unlike hydration from within, water can actually dry out the skin when it comes into contact with it externally.

Water causes the skin to swell, washes out the skin's natural oils, and disrupts the skin barrier. Soaps, syndets, and emulsifiers further enhance this effect due to their oil-dissolving properties. Especially water that is too hot strips the skin of moisture, causing it to dry out more quickly and promoting faster skin aging.

To actively protect your skin from water loss, optimal care should support the skin's natural NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor), strengthen the skin barrier, and both hydrate and retain moisture.

High-quality oils are essential for effective, moisture-retaining care and should play a central role in the skincare routine of every skin type.
