Tipps für eine effektive Gua Sha Massage

Have you ever tried a Gua Sha massage with the Love it Pure Day & Night Face Oil?

A Gua Sha is a great way to successfully complement your skin & self-care routine. Originating in China, the Gua Sha massage technique is still an important type of treatment today. While it is primarily used as a body massage to combat toxins, the Gua Sha massage can also play a decisive role in your beauty routine.

When used correctly, a gentle facial massage with a Gua Sha supports lymphatic drainage and stimulates blood circulation. This can reduce puffiness and under-eye bags, and regular use can result in firmer connective tissue. It also supports detoxification processes.

The muscles in the face, neck, and nape are relaxed, which has a noticeably positive effect on tension.

Did you know that the Gua Sha massage also has an anti-aging effect?

Massaging the tissue and increasing blood circulation stimulates collagen production. This ensures elastic skin and more resilience. A rosy, fresh complexion is the icing on the cake!

With the help of the traditional Gua Sha massage, various skin areas are massaged and scraped according to TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). This specifically activates so-called meridians, i.e., channels of life energy (Qi), and various reflex zones. In Chinese medicine, the massage is primarily used to prevent illness, stimulate blood circulation and lymphatic flow, and eliminate toxins. Scientific studies and research confirm the positive effect of the Gua Sha massage. Consequently, neck pain or even chronic back pain can be successfully alleviated with a Gua Sha treatment.

Who is a Gua Sha treatment suitable for?

In principle, anyone can perform a Gua Sha massage, as the pressure of the massage can be controlled and thus adapted to individual sensitivity. In general, however, people with acne or injuries should avoid using a Gua Sha on the affected areas.

Tips for an effective Gua Sha massage

For a Gua Sha massage, you need a nourishing oil in addition to the Gua Sha stone. It is best to tailor the oil to the needs of your skin or your skin type. In nature, we find a suitable oil for every skin type and condition. The Love it Pure Day & Night Face Oil is also excellent for a Gua Sha massage and adapts optimally to the needs of your skin with physiological skin lipids. Impure and combination skin also benefit from this oil.

By choosing a high-quality oil that suits your skin type, you can improve the effect of the massage even further - your skin will thank you!

The massage should take about 5 to 10 minutes. You can perform it daily and treat yourself to a little "me time." In the morning, the massage can be vitalizing and provide a fresh kick, while an evening application can relax, calm, and loosen the muscles.

Tip: For a refreshing and de-puffing massage in the morning, you can also store the stone in the fridge overnight.

Massage in the morning and evening with different goals in mind. In the morning, focus on reducing puffiness, initiating detoxification processes, and conjuring up a fresh glow on your face, and in the evening, focus on releasing tension and slowing down before going to bed.

Step 1: Clean the Gua Sha thoroughly before each use.

Step 2: Cleanse your face. A thorough cleansing is the ideal basis for using the Gua Sha. The massage should always be performed on clean, makeup-free skin so that no bacteria are spread across the face. Otherwise, there is a risk of impurities.

Step 3: Apply the facial oil generously to your face, neck, and nape with gentle, sweeping movements.

Step 4: Massage. Apply light pressure with the Gua Sha - just as it feels comfortable for you. Always perform the massage movements from the center of the face outwards and upwards so that lymphatic flow and thus the removal of waste products can be activated and supported. Start, for example, at the bridge of the nose and move up to your hairline. To reduce puffiness, such as around the eyes, use the short edge of your Gua Sha and stroke very slowly from the inside outwards and downwards over the temples towards the lymphatic nodes. You can use the massage on your face and other parts of the body. You can also massage your neck and nape. Use the broad side of the stone for this. Only on the neck should you work from the bottom up. It is perfectly normal for the skin to be slightly reddened by the massage because blood circulation is stimulated. If you feel that the redness is too strong, apply less pressure.

In addition to morning puffiness, regular use can reduce blackheads and impurities. Furthermore, your skin glows with a rosy freshness after the massage and feels significantly plumper. In the long term, massaging the tissue and increasing blood circulation can promote your skin's elasticity and smooth out minor wrinkles. With targeted massage movements, facial contours can also be defined and visually slightly lifted. For a defined jawline, regularly run the notch of your Gua Sha along your jawline from the chin towards the ear several times with moderate pressure. Even if you grind your teeth at night or suffer from tension in your jaw, the Gua Sha is your new best friend. You can effectively release tension by specifically massaging the jaw, mouth, and facial muscles.

Step 5: Clean the Gua Sha thoroughly after each use to remove all treatment residues.
