What Ayurveda, Yoga, meditation, and skincare have in common
A look back at the Love it Pure Serenity Retreat
A weekend full of calm. A retreat from the fast-paced daily grind into a world of silence, movement, and consciousness. From October 17th to 19th, 2025, the be better Serenity Retreat took place in Märkische Schweiz – a collaborative experience by Kerstin Linnartz and Love it Pure founder Maya Neuwirth that demonstrated just how closely connected body, mind, and skin really are.
A weekend for the body, mind, and skin
At the Strandhotel Vier Jahreszeiten Buckow, surrounded by forests, clear air, and sparkling lakes, people gathered in search of one thing: a break from functioning. An opportunity to feel themselves again – through movement, silence, and touch.
Daily yoga classes and meditations with Kerstin Linnartz provided space to breathe, while Ayurvedic rituals like dry brushing, self-massage, and morning silence (Mouna) unleashed deep relaxation, new energy, and a tangible sense of well-being. The Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten also pampered the participants with healthy, nourishing Ayurvedic meals.
These conscious moments of slowing down didn’t just touch the mind; they were also visibly reflected on the skin. It became calmer, clearer, and more radiant.
Beauty emerges where calm settles in. When the breath deepens and the skin is allowed to breathe again.
Mindfulness as the key to inner and outer radiance
A central theme of the retreat was the connection between inner balance and outer radiance. Maya Neuwirth, founder of Love it Pure, shared her knowledge regarding the role of mindfulness, Ayurveda, and Mindful Skin Care for skin health.
She reminded us that the skin, our largest organ, is in constant exchange with our internal system. What we think, feel, and eat affects it just as much as what we apply to it.
“Well-nourished skin always looks beautiful.
Regardless of whether it has lines or imperfections.
It is the balance and the radiance that count.”
— Maya Neuwirth
The skin as a mirror of balance
Yoga, meditation, and skincare have one thing in common: they are based on awareness and balance. When we breathe mindfully, touch with love, and take time for care, not only does the mind calm down, but the autonomic nervous system also relaxes. And the skin reacts immediately: with clarity, warmth, and a glow.
This experience was a thread that ran through the entire retreat: movement, nutrition, care, and thought are not separate areas – they nourish one another. Everything we give the body affects the skin. Everything we put on the skin has an effect on us.
A central thought that many participants took home was: Care is nourishment.
Just as we pay attention to what we eat, we should also pay attention to what we "feed" our skin. Because the skin absorbs many things: through the pores, through sensory cells, and as a metabolic organ.
Mindful skincare, therefore, does not begin on the surface, but with consciousness: What ingredients are going onto my skin? Are they pure, safe, effective, and in harmony with my body?
These questions were at the heart of Maya Neuwirth’s insights. She emphasized that the choice of skincare products is an expression of self-care: "Everything we apply to our skin becomes part of our inner equilibrium. That is why purity is not a trend, but an attitude."
Those who choose mindfully do not just treat the skin—they nourish it.
Beyond the workshops, conversations, and mindfulness sessions, the nature of Märkische Schweiz itself offered space to slow down. Forest walks, silence by the lake, and conscious breathing moments made it clear how closely external calm and inner balance are interwoven.
Many participants described that after these days, they were not only regenerated but also reconnected – with themselves, with nature, and with their own body awareness.
Insights you can take into your daily life, too.
Small rituals with a big impact
1. Breathe consciously:
Three deep breaths in the morning or box breathing (the 4-4-4-4 method) before your skincare routine helps to calm the nervous system and become present.
2. Touch yourself mindfully:
Massage your face gently – not to "optimize" it, but to feel yourself. Every touch sends signals of safety to your brain.
3. Choose consciously:
When it comes to skincare, look for ingredients that are pure, safe, harmless, plant-based, and evidence-based. Just as good nutrition strengthens the body, conscious care strengthens the skin.
4. Remember silence:
Introduce your own "Mouna." Silence in the morning, no phone, no words.
This silence brings clarity – to the skin, as well.
5. Care as meditation:
Don't see your skincare as a chore, but as a ritual.
Each application is an invitation to connect with yourself and nourish your being – inside and out.
The be better Serenity Retreat was more than just a time-out.
It was a reminder that true beauty emerges when we bring ourselves into balance – physically, emotionally, and mentally.
When we breathe consciously, live mindfully, and nourish our skin with calm, purity, and love, a radiance arises that no product in the world can imitate.
It is the radiance of life.
The glow that comes from within.
For balance you can see. For beauty you can feel.
“Everything we apply to the skin becomes part of our inner equilibrium. That is why purity is not a trend, but an attitude.”
— Maya Neuwirth, founder of Love it Pure
