Why cold-pressed, pure natural oils?
Skin care with natural oils is one of the oldest and most effective methods and was even used before plant oils found their way into the kitchen. Natural fats have been considered a remedy since ancient times, particularly for soothing irritated skin.
Unlike mineral oils, plant oils support the skin in its natural function. The use of pure natural plant oils, which contain a high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids, is particularly important. These are especially skin-friendly and are required by the body for metabolism.
Depending on the fatty acid profile, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids have different effects and can thus, beyond skin care, have skin-regenerating and stabilizing effects on irritated skin. The different fatty acids are also vital building blocks for functioning cell membranes, and other substances contained in unrefined plant oils, such as flavonoids, vitamins, phytosterols, lecithins, and trace elements, also actively contribute to skin health. These substances protect against cell damage, strengthen the immune system, and regulate biochemical reactions in the body.
Due to their biochemical structure, high-quality, pure natural plant oils penetrate the stratum corneum of the epidermis and are absorbed by the skin accordingly. They can thus actively neutralize aggressive and reactive free radicals, which plays an essential role in anti-aging care. Furthermore, they support the regeneration of damaged barriers and the function of the epidermal immune system in a completely natural way. Germs and microorganisms, which are among other things responsible for blemished skin, are deprived of their breeding ground, and inflammatory processes subside. By strengthening the epidermal immune system and maintaining an intact barrier layer, the re-establishment of harmful microorganisms is prevented.
But precisely because pure natural plant oils can be so well absorbed by the skin, their quality is particularly crucial. In addition to all the effective substances that have a positive effect on the skin, they can also be contaminated with unwanted components, such as pesticides / pesticide residues, impurities, aflatoxins, free fatty acids, peroxides, and hexane residues, which can also find their way onto/into the skin.
Refining makes it possible to remove these accompanying substances from plant oils. For this purpose, the oils are heated to up to 250 degrees Celsius, which results in a large proportion of trans fatty acids remaining in the oil. This has a negative effect on the skin's metabolism, as the cell does not distinguish between trans or cis fatty acids and incorporates both types of fatty acids equally into the cell wall.
In addition, a considerable part of the fat-soluble accompanying substances is removed through refining, and the range of effects is significantly minimized. Unfortunately, the majority of plant oils are produced today using hot pressing and chemical extraction, as this process can achieve significantly higher yields, and the product is odorless, longer-lasting, and above all, cheaper. The latter in particular leads to the fact that these very refined neutral oils are used in most cosmetic products. Although they are a natural component, they do not have the same effect as plant oils produced using the cold-pressing process.
Love it Pure therefore only uses plant-based raw materials from controlled organic farming, which are produced using the cold-pressing process, guaranteed free from harmful substances, and of the highest quality, in order to unleash the best possible care potential.
