Hauttyp vs. Hautzustand

To choose the right care and achieve long-lasting results, it is essential to learn a little about the skin and its functions. Every skin is unique and therefore must be cared for individually. The skin is our largest metabolic organ and at the same time our interface with the outside world. It protects us from mechanical, physical, chemical and thermal influences, fends off microorganisms and is in constant interaction with our organism. It is a true all-rounder and it is no wonder that it is said: "The skin is the mirror of the soul." If we are particularly stressed, for example, or suffer from sleep deprivation, this is also reflected in our skin. It looks pale and dull, and we look tired. Skin care is therefore always a holistic aspect. As a metabolic organ, the skin is in constant interaction with everything we put into it and our body, and thus also plays an important role in our well-being.

The first step towards the right and individual care of the skin:

To find the optimal skin care, it is essential to know your own skin's needs.

The skin's care requirements are made up of two important factors: skin type and skin condition. But what is the difference? While skin type is genetically determined and therefore unchangeable, our skin condition changes constantly due to external and internal influences. These include, for example, stress, hormones, environmental influences, medication, diet, UV radiation and also cosmetics.

Healthy skin is divided into four different, genetically determined skin types:

- Normal skin

- Dry skin

- Oily skin

- Combination skin

First, a care product should cover the basic needs of the skin type. To make the skin shine in its best possible appearance, the optimal care should always address where the normal skin function needs a little support and shows a deficiency.

The following skin conditions can be caused by internal and external factors, such as hormonal changes, stress, weather or diet:

- dehydrated skin

- blemished skin

- inflamed skin

- sensitive skin

- oily skin

- dry to very dry skin

- stressed skin prone to redness

- tired and dull skin

- mature skin

The skin can only regenerate and protect itself against harmful influences to a limited extent on its own. If it has fallen out of balance, we must support its natural protective function.

Healthy skin is beautiful skin.
