Effective and natural skin cleansing
Your skin benefits particularly from the Oil Cleansing Method (OCM) during the colder months. It is a particularly gentle form of facial cleansing that gently removes makeup, excess sebum and dirt particles without damaging the natural protective barrier.
Our skin produces oils to protect and nourish itself. While facial cleansing products such as cleansing gels, foams or cleansing milks contain emulsifiers and surfactants (active cleansing substances) that wash away not only makeup and dirt but also the skin's own lipids, cleansing the face with natural oils has a nourishing effect that also strengthens the skin barrier and protects the skin from moisture loss.
Excess sebum and oils that can cause blemishes are also gently removed with OCM, allowing the skin to return to a healthy balance.
Oil cleansing is not only ideal for you if you experience a feeling of tightness after cleansing your face or are prone to dry skin. Combination or oily skin types also benefit from cleansing with oil.
While cleansing products with surfactants strip the skin of oil, causing the skin to overproduce sebum in response, oil cleansing signals to the skin that there are enough oils, regulating the skin's own sebum production.
Both cleansing and care with the right plant oils can help alleviate oily and blemished skin. Oily shine is reduced, and blemishes subside.
Did you know that the Love it Pure Day & Night Face Oil is suitable not only for nourishing but also for cleansing all skin types?
The Oil Cleansing Method works on the principle that "like dissolves like," or "oil dissolves oil."
Before skincare products can work, the skin must be thoroughly cleansed, otherwise bacteria and dirt are spread across the face and valuable active ingredients and nutrients become more or less ineffective.
Evening cleansing is particularly important to remove (environmental) pollution, makeup and blemishes that have accumulated over the day. In the morning, however, a gentle cleanse with plain water or plant waters is sufficient to prepare the skin for subsequent skincare products.
Applied to dry skin and gently massaged in, the oil binds excess sebum and regulates increased sebum production before the pores can become clogged. This helps prevent the formation of blackheads and blemishes.
Waterproof makeup, rich foundations and sunscreen products can also be gently removed from the skin this way. The vitamins and essential fatty acids in the oil additionally nourish the skin and do not dry it out.
How does the oil cleansing method work?
-
Apply the oil generously to dry skin and massage it thoroughly into the facial skin. Enjoy your facial massage and transform your evening cleansing ritual into a relaxing me-time.
-
Next, place a washcloth soaked in warm water on your face. The warmth opens the pores and supports the cleansing effect.
-
Now gently remove the oil from your skin with the washcloth.
-
Rinse the washcloth in between and repeat the process.
-
Finally, it is recommended to rinse your face with cold water so that the pores close again. Your skin will glow with a balanced and rosy complexion.
-
Next, apply the Refreshing Face Fluid to your face, neck, décolletage and eye area, and finish your skincare routine according to your skin's needs with a few drops of Day & Night Face Oil .
As with switching to new skincare products, there may be a temporary worsening of the skin's appearance when trying a new cleansing method.
Patience is required now! Continue your routine as usual. After your skin's adjustment period (4-6 weeks), all reactions should have subsided, and your skin will be visibly balanced, smoother and more even.
